The little elongation complex regulates small nuclear RNA transcription

The little elongation complex regulates small nuclear RNA transcription

To identify proteins that associate with C-terminal domain of ELL.
The fly homologs of MLL translocation partners, Lilli (AFF1- and AFF4-related) and Ear (ENL-
and AF9-related), are found in a SEC-like complex with ELL.
↓↓
1. A set of relatively uncharacterized proteins in Drosophila that associate with the C
terminus of ELL in a complex were found.

2. This complex contained ELL but lacks P-TEFb and other componetes of SEC.

3. Because this complex accumulated in snRNA genes with Pol II, and regulates snRNA
transcription from flies to humans, it was named as
Little Elongation Complex (LEC)
