Identification of 67 Histone Marks and Histone Lysine Crotonylation as a New Type of Histone Modification
<Summary>
ヒストンの翻訳後修飾は、細胞分化や発生などの多様な生物学上のプロセスにおいて重要な役割を担っており、ヒストンへの異常な修飾は癌をはじめとする様々な疾患と関連している。筆者らは、67の新規なヒストン修飾あるいは修飾部位を同定し、その中にはTyrosine hydroxylation(Yoh)、Lysine crotonylation(Kcr)の2種類の全く新しい修飾も含まれていた。
Kcrはヒト体細胞およびマウス雄性生殖細胞ゲノムのアクティブなプロモーターあるいはエンハンサーに見られた。Kcrは減数分裂後のマウス雄性生殖細胞の中で特に性染色体にエンリッチしており、雄性生殖細胞分化を制御する重要なシグナルであることが示唆された。
